  • Whilst uniforms are best for dancing so the teacher can see if dance skills are being performed correctly, I understand how these can be costly. So uniforms aren't essential but appropriate clothing is necessary. Leggings, jogging bottoms or shorts with either a t-shirt or a leotard is acceptable. However uniforms will be required for exams.

  • Tap shoes are not essential for the first few weeks until you are certain you want to continue with the class. Tap shoes can be found cheaper on sites such as eBay and Vinted. Some tap shoes are better than others and provide more support, so feel free to check with me before buying.

  • Acro-dance is performed bare footed.

    Lyrical Dance is performed bare footed with the option of a turning shoe.

    Modern Dance is barefooted.

    Street Dance requires comfy footwear like trainers.

    Tap Dance requires tap shoes once you are sure you like this style of dance (wear shoes like trainers at first)

    Ballet requires ballet shoes, students can dance barefooted until they can purchase ballet shoes.

  • I do not offer free trial classes as my class prices are very reasonably priced compared to other dance schools. I am also a highly qualified and experienced dance teacher with all the latest up to date knowledge and I'm confident in my abilities. I do not charge a 4 week notice period if you decide to leave my dance school.

  • Yes students can work to ISTD graded and vocational exams. Once students get to the higher grades, they have the opportunity to earn UCAS tariff points towards collage/university. With Distinction having a higher UCAS tariff points value than Merit and Pass.

    Students will only be entered into exams when the teacher is confident that students have a good understanding of the syllabus and meet the performance criteria to gain a good result.

    Exams can be costly as there will be an entrance fee, extra tuition and required uniform/footwear.

    Acrobatic Arts students will also have the opportunity to enter exams once they meet the criteria for each level.

  • Yes I will give all students the opportunity to attend Competitions and participate in Displays and Shows.

  • We do not require a 4 week notice period however if you decide to leave En Pointe School of Dancing during the term you have paid for you will not receive a refund.

    If you decide to leave En Pointe please notify us asap.

  • If your child has a problem or anxiety issues allowances will be made for parents to support their child in class, this must be agreed before class. However strict safeguarding/health and safety rules must be agreed to beforehand.

    Strictly only one parent/carer per child allowed in the class.

    Absolutely no mobile phones to be used during the class (you will be asked to leave the room if you are using your phone)

    I would prefer no siblings to be brought to the class if this is unavoidable please ensure they aren't running around or noisy.

    Try to encourage your child to concentrate on the class and not to run over to you as this is very distracting to other children.

    Due to safeguarding and health and safety regulations En Pointe School of Dancing reserves the right to refuse any adult/person entry into class.
